To meet the needs of the railroad industry, Little Giant produces cranes for both on and off-track use. The company's cranes and shovels come in two styles--a conventional version equipped with pneumatic tires and a high rail version with both pneumatic tires and wheels suitable for on-track use. Adding to the product line, Little Giant also manufactures crawler cranes driven in endless belt tractor treads. The cranes are also simple to use. Each has hydraulic cylinders which raise and lower the railroad wheels--making it easy for the operator to switch from one mode of travel to another.

In addition too conventional cranes, the company manufactures dragline and clamshell excavators ranging in capacity from 7 1/2 to 25 tons. They have been especially popular with federal, state and local agencies as well as private and foreign customers.

In achieving quality standards, the company controls the production of each part. Rather than depending on other manufacturers for major components, Little Giant engineers and builds both the upper and lower unit of each machine it produces.
